History

Founded in 1925, first as a distributor and then as a manufacturer of textile dyes. In the 1970s, the company opted for diversification and entered the paper and leather sectors. In 1994, it became part of the German Trumpler Group, through its subsidiary Trumpler Española S.A. and its own parent company Trumpler GmbH & co, which operates in more than 40 countries around the world.

In 1999, a subsidiary was founded in Mexico, a strategic company within the policy of expansion in Central and North America, extending the scope of distribution to more than twenty countries.

2025  

  • 100th Anniversary - Founded in 1925, Robama celebrates its big anniversary.

  • Ambitious future investment plan based on sustainability.

  • Robama enters the wood dyes sector.

  • Relocation of the head office to Palafolls

  • The company changes its name from ‘Rovira, Bachs y Macia S.A.’ to S.A. Robama.

1978:

  • A 35,000 m2 plot of land is purchased in Palafolls where the current factory is to be located.

1975:

  • Death of the founder Ramon Rovira Fábregas

  • Death of the founder José Maciá Roca

  • Death of the founder José Bachs Casanovas

1963:

  • The company GAF (General Aniline & Film Corp.) signs a contract for the representation of auxiliary products for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries in Spain.

1962: 

  • The three sons of the founders officially enter as proxies to give continuity to the management of the company.

1959:

  • Start-up of new plant for the manufacture of optical brighteners.

1951:

  • Start-up of a new section for the manufacture of vat dyes for the textile industry.

1945:

  • A distribution agreement is signed for Spain with the American company ‘General Dyestuff Corporation’.

1939: 

  • The company moves to a new factory in the town of Badalona, which will include a warehouse and production facilities.

1936

  • A 10,000 m2 plot of land is purchased in Badalona (Barcelona), where the first factory will be located

1925: 

  • Foundation of Robama by three Spanish families: Rovira, Bachs and Macià.

1926: 

  • Commercial representation of the American company ‘National Aniline & Chemical Company

1930: 

  • The company moves to new premises at Carrer Ausias Marc 67 in Barcelona.

1934: 

  • The first batch is produced in a pilot plant: 16 kgs of Hispamin Blue 2B.
