ROBAMA is a European manufacturer of dyes, optical brighteners and auxiliaries, mainly for paper, textile and leather industries.

Founded in 1925, begun its activity in the textile area first as distributor and later as manufacturer. In the 70’s, the company bets on the diversification and starts with two new industries; paper and leather. In 1994 joined the German Group Trumpler International through Trumpler Española S.A. and the head office itself Trumpler GmbH & co, which operates in over 40 countries worldwide.

In 1999, a subsidiary in Mexico was founded. An strategic company, as part of the expansion policy in Central America and North America, allowing Robama to extend the distribution to more than 20 countries.

1925 – ROBAMA was founded by the three Spanish families Rovira, Bachs and Macià.

1934 – In 1934, the first batch of dye in ROBAMA’s history was manufactured in a pilot plant..

1936 – A 10.000 m2 plot of land bought in Badalona (Barcelona) where the company’s first manufacturing plant was placed.

1951 – A new section started up to manufacture Vat dyes for the textile industry.

1959 – The production of optical brighteners started.

1970 – Robama started to work in the paper and leather market.

1978 – A 35.000 m2 plot of land was bought in Palafolls, where Robama’s manufacturing facilities are placed nowadays

1994 – ROBAMA was taken over by the multinational German group Trumpler Internacional through its Spanish subsidiary.

1999 – First subsidiary in Mexico was opened: ROBAMA SA de CV.

This activity can be considered as one of our most important instruments for the development of new products, for the improvement of technology and the safety or environmental behavior of current products as well.


Strict selection of suppliers capable to satisfy permanently our standard quality requirements.

The manufacturing procedures are controlled with rigorous instructions and the critical parameters are performed with calibrated or verified instruments. The production equipment has computerized maintenance schedules controlled by the data processing Prisma.


We strictly meet with the regulations and specially highlight following points:

  • High reduction of pollute substances through our wasted water treatment installations.
  • For the manipulation of the goods, as well as for the transport (by land -ADR, by sea – IMDG or by air – IATA) our packaging and labeling requirements are constantly adjusted to the regulations currently in force.
  • Introduction of a Product Security Documents Managing System (WERCS).

SA ROBAMA focuses on the Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety Management System as a way to organize its business life, basing it on basic pillars such as the Quality of its Service, respect for the environment and the Preservation of damage and deterioration of Health in the Workplace, all as a result of continuous improvement and the incessant search for cooperation and satisfaction of customers, employees and other stakeholders.

  • Establish objectives and goals according to the context of the organization and the strategy to be followed by it, continuously improving its effectiveness through thorough monito ring and periodic reviews.
  • Provide the necessary resources for the development and implementation of the management system, and to be able to work on eliminating hazards and reducing the risks present in the workplace.
  • Consult and involve workers in issues related to prevention and safety and health at work.
